Comic Con Africa with Capitec is the ultimate playground for gamers, and the 2026 edition of the con has more for gamers to experience than ever before. It’s four days of connecting with your fellow gamers and pure gaming joy, including tech shopping, high-stakes tournaments, free-to-play zones, the biggest titles, new releases, the latest consoles, sim rigs, and thrilling esports championships. It’s the only place to be for casual and diehard gamers alike over the Heritage Day long weekend, from 24 to 27 September. Fans will find all the gaming action in Hall 6 of the Joburg Expo Centre, Nasrec. The hall is over 7000sqm and its going to be packed with non-stop gaming action all weekend long.

Telkom VS Gaming

Telkom VS Gaming returns to Comic Con Africa in 2026, bringing exciting esports action and elite national esports teams. Fans can catch highly anticipated championship finals, with the Top 8 CS2 Masters and Top 4 HSEL CS2 teams battling it out live on the incredible VS Gaming Main Stage. For the first time ever, Telkom VS Gaming will also host a Tekkentournament, adding a new level of competitive excitement for fighting game fans. This is a free-to-play tournament that con-goers can enter at the con, with must-have prizes up for grabs. In the Telkom Mobile Gaming Zone fans can win daily spot prizes, and also test their skills in the eDiski EAFC Zone. From high-stakes tournaments to interactive gaming experiences, Telkom is set to make Comic Con Africa a must-visit destination for gamers and fans alike. Samsung Mobile will also be in the Telkom zone, giving con-goers the chance to get gaming on mobile. As if that wasn’t enough from Telkom, there will also be a PUBG mobile gaming zone.

Red Bull Wings Cup

The Red Bull Wings Cup is bringing the heat to Comic Con Africa! Fans can watch professional players go head-to-head on EA SPORTS FC 27 in high-level competitive action, then step up and see if they’ve got what it takes. Fans can watch the pros, get hands-on with FC 27 in the free-to-play zone, challenge their friends, and experience the latest game for themselves. Whether a player or a spectator, fans should get ready for big plays, big energy, and plenty of bragging rights!

Toyota

The TTGE stand will again host free-to-play gaming across sim racing, console and mobile titles, including Gran Turismo 7on full-motion racing rigs, Street Fighter, EA FC and Brawlhalla on console, and Clash Royale and Subway Surfers on mobile. Daily tournaments, leaderboards, Beat The Pro challenges and prize handovers will run from the stand's mini stage. Toyota will also bring a physical version of Load The Hilux, a free daily mini-game on TTGE's Brake Time platform, to the event's food court area. Attendees will compete against the clock to load oversized cargo into a full-size Toyota Hilux, with daily prizes for the fastest recorded times. A custom-built Hilux transformer will move through the show across the four days, serving as both a fan experience and a navigation point to the TTGE stand. Attendees who photograph the character and share the content tagging The Toyota Gaming Engine, or submit names for the character, will stand to win a share in R15,000 in eGift vouchers.

PC Builder brings Computer Mania

There’s no two ways about it - Comic Con Africa’s official hardware partner PC Builder is bringing a retail space with Computer Mania that will have gaming fans weak at the knees with the sheer number of brands and offers available. The Computer Mania store space clocks in at almost 1,000sqm of tech and gaming retail utopia!

RGB Gaming

RGB Gaming will be hosting multiple thrilling finales at Comic Con Africa. Schools at various levels, from primary upwards, have been competing in RGB leagues for the whole year, and it all comes to a head at the con! Primary School kids compete on titles such as Minecraft and Rocket League on Thursday. On Friday it will be the culmination of the Mobile Stars programme. The programme has enabled children from underprivileged regions to receive esports education and play against other schools weekly. With eight finalists, the winning school will receive significant prizes to uplift their esports teams. On Saturday 50 university level teams will be competing in Apex Legends, while Sunday welcomes High School teams playing Fortnite and Rocket League.

Incredible Connection

The team at Incredible Connection has loads planned for fans. The Incredible Xperts will be on hand to give great advice for fans who want to upgrade their rigs. There’ll be live demos of the latest tech, and interactive gaming challenges will see some lucky fans score awesome prizes. And let’s not forget what else will be incredible – the shopping deals!

ASUS

ASUS will be making their solo debut at Comic Con Africa in 2026. Fans can test ROG equipment from VR glasses to ProArt tablets and more, as well as chat with ASUS staff about their latest products and what they can do. Street Fighter Free-To-Play Zone in Partnership With Toshiba The Street Fighter Free-to-Play Zone, brought to Comic Con Africa in partnership with Toshiba, will be located in Otaku Town. Fans can challenge friends or other con-goers and show off their skills on the iconic game. There will be a daily leaderboard and one lucky fan daily will walk away with a Toshiba TV.

Fanta

Wanta Fanta? Come get it at Comic Con Africa. Fanta is bringing free-to-play Halo on the XBOX 25th Anniversary Collection. Enter the Call of Duty Survive The Sweep zone for an in-game experience like no other! The Fanta stand has a comfy chill zone for fans where they can have a break and enjoy their favourite orange soda.

More Brands Than Ever Before

Comic Con Africa 226 with Capitec is loaded with more gaming and tech brands than ever before. The likes of Wantech, SMD, Prima Interactive, Honor, and Amethyst Gaming will be on the show floor. They’ll all be coming in hot with deals, specials, and unmissable offers. Kids wanting to launch their careers in esports can chat to Eduvos and Crawford schools about their esports programmes.

Comic Con Africa Retro Gaming Arcade

This zone is straight out of the 80s. Set up to look just like a retro gaming arcade, this colourful area features classic arcade games like Space Invaders, Pac Man and more. Fans can test their footwork and coordination on Dance Dance Revolution, shoot hoops, play a game of pool, or relax in the arcade lounge. Gaming at Comic Con Africa with Capitec is a full-blown adrenaline rush, a place where every tap, click, combo, and victory feels larger than life.
